Research/Clinical Interests:

Mindy Goldman specializes in women's health care and gynecology issues for breast cancer patients and those at risk for cancer. She is the Director of the Women's Cancer Care Program which is jointly sponsored by UCSF's Carol Franc Buck Breast Care Center and the National Center of Excellence in Women's Health. Dr. Goldman is available to women at every stage of their cancer experiences and works closely with cancer specialists to help ease the gynecologic side effects of cancer treatment. Her expertise ranges from treating menopausal hot flashes caused by chemotherapy to combating the side effects of breast cancer drugs, from improving patients' libidos and sexual side effects to counseling about reproductive issues after breast cancer, as well as fertility preservation for cancer patients.

Dr. Goldman is also the co-founder and co-chair of the Board of Directors for the Uilani Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides financial support to women with breast cancer to use for complementary treatments to improve quality of life. Through caring for her best friend with breast cancer, Dr. Goldman developed a desire to do more for breast cancer patients. She feels that her experiences as a caretaker were life altering and have given her a deeper sense of connection to breast cancer patients and their families. Her clinical and research interests are focused on treating menopausal symptoms and sexual dysfunction as they relate to breast cancer treatment.

She also sees general gynecologic patients and has interests and expertise in managing menopausal symptoms and performing minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
